Lodge is the only lodging in the Park. Sitting comfortably at over 6,500',
it is an experience that you have to earn. The shortest of the six foot
trails leading to the lodge is over 5.5 miles. Yet thousands of people

Get twice the experience out of a single trip! Hike up one trail and
down another.

Hike up what is arguably the most scenic (and easiest)
trail to the Lodge. Then enjoy a totally different experience the following
day, hiking down a portion of the greatest summit to base elevation change
in the Park, Mt. LeConte's north face, or, hike down to a portion of the
East Coast's most famous trail, the Appalachian Trail.

Want to guarantee you get the most from your trip? You've
got it. Bring along one of the guides who made Mt. LeConte Lodge part
of The Lonely Planet. Your naturalist guide will share the Park's natural
and human history from the settlers to the Native Americans who lived
on this land for thousands of years. The Smokies contain more species
of life than anywhere else in the world North of the Tropics. Want to learn about some of these beautiful species, some found
only in the Park? We'll share with you some of the marvels that make the
Smokies unique. Ever wonder what grandma used to cure coughs, sore throats,
headaches? Walk with us and we'll share with you some of those time tested
natural medicines. We'll also introduce you to some tasty wild treats
along the way. Also we will discuss strategies and demonstrate techniques
to make the physical part of your journey as pleasant as possible.

Walk along a beautiful mountain stream through an
old growth forest. Climb up the side of one of the
most picturesque mountains, experiencing incredible
views of artistic rock formations. Picnic on a beautiful
rock outcropping surrounded by blueberry bushes, mountain
laurel and plants found only on Southern Appalachian
Heath Balds, while basking in the views of the mountains
below. We may even get a glimpse of the Peregrine
Falcons that nest near by. This walk is moderate,
and takes place on a very popular trail.

Clingmans Dome may be the
highest peak in the Park, but Mt. LeConte is widely considered the
highest and most spectacular mountain. Experience it all. We will
climb through a rock, travel through an old growth forest, pass breathtaking
vistas, and explore the powerful force of water as we make our way
to the top of the most impressive mountain in the Park. On our way,
we will pause at a breathtaking vista, overlooking the spot where
the fastest animal in the world, the Peregrine Falcon, has made its
home. We will visit the LeConte Lodge, and observe some of the most
famous views in the Park. We will lunch on a point overlooking Gatlinburg
and then do it all over again on our way down.
