Even with over 850 miles of trails in the Park, good loop hikes are few and far between. Let us unlock the world of the through-hike for you. A Walk in the Woods offers several options to help you to do the trails worth exploring.

A Walk in the Woods offers RELIABLE, knowledgeable Shuttle Service anywhere in the Park. We are permitted through the GSMNP, members of the Gatlinburg Chamber of Commerce, our drivers professionally licensed and insured.

  1. We can follow you to your destination trailhead to leave your car, and then drive you to the start of your hike.
  2. We can pick you up at a trailhead at a specified time and drop you back off at your car.
  3. We can pick you up from your hotel, drop you off at a trailhead, and pick you up and take you back to your hotel when finished.
  4. We can transport your car to your destination trailhead.
  5. We can pick you up from the airport and take you directly to a trailhead (we can even stop for provisions if needed).
  6. We can meet you at a trail and take you back to the airport.
  7. We can arrange tour buses for shuttling large groups.

Since we are backpacking guides in the Great Smoky Mountains, we don't just play taxi when we shuttle you. We give all of our shuttle customers up to the minute information about the Park, including weather and trail conditions. We carry backcountry permits with us, will help you fill them out, and turn them in for you for no extra charge - saving you a trip to Park Headquarters. We can offer advice on what to bring and what not too. Show you how to adjust your pack for perfect fit. Offer strategies on covering miles pain free, and answer any questions you may have to help make your trip perfect.

Plus, we'll ALWAYS be at the destination when we say we will! This is our 10th season of operations, and we have yet to be late for a scheduled shuttle. Together, Erik and Vesna have over 425,000 miles of Incident Free Smoky Mountain Driving Experience.

We also offer safe parking options for those who do not wish to leave there cars at a trailhead overnight.
